10 ways to protect our Planet

First of all, we should be thoughtful what are possible ways to start this evolution e.g. buying eco friendly products for daily use?

With the increasing climate change issues and global warming challenges, here are 10 ways through which we can not only protect our planet but also can make it a sustainable place to live.

Say ‘NO’ to Plastic:

Every year, about 8 million tons of plastic waste escapes into the oceans from coastal nations and it is killing more than 1.1 million seabirds and animals. So instead of using plastic products, we should use their alternatives e.g. plastic bags, toothbrushes, bottles, straws, and cutlery should be replaced by cotton produce bags or non-woven grocery bags, bamboo toothbrushes, stainless steel bottles, eco-friendly straws, and bamboo cutlery sets consecutively.

Plant Trees:

The second most significant way to preserve our planet is to start reforestation. Trees provide food and oxygen. They help save energy, clean the air, and help combat climate change.

Drive less Walk more:

Driving is one of the biggest causes of pollution. Limiting car use is a significant measure to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases, which are accountable for climate change.

Save Water:

Water is wasted more frequently than we can see. Turn off the faucet as you are brushing your teeth. Don’t turn your shower on until you’re ready to get in and wash your hair. Limit your water usage as you wash dishes. Changing old habits will be good for both the environment and your wallet. Also, the less water you use, the less runoff and wastewater that eventually end up in the ocean.

Save Electricity:

Saving electricity can reduce pollution, carbon dioxide emissions, oil consumption, and even the creation of more power plants. So, use energy-efficient light bulbs instead of regular bulbs. Make you turn off lights, the TV, and other appliances when you are not using them. Lower your air conditioning or heat when it’s not necessary.

Reduce Food Wastage:

Statistics show that in the United States, 40% of food is wasted annually. Minimizing food wastage reduces methane emissions from landfills, lowers your carbon footprint and conserves energy and resources. So, we should always try to reduce food wastage.

Eat Local:

It has been estimated that 13% of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions result from the production and transport of food. Buying local, naturally-grown produce that includes less meat and more in-season vegetables will dramatically reduce the carbon emissions produced from fertilizers and pesticides.

Dry Your Clothes Naturally:

the traditional method of line-drying your clothing is much better for the environment. One dryer load uses 5 times more electricity than washing; by simply line-drying your clothes, you can save 1/3 of their carbon footprint.

Go Green:

Every time you go shopping, remember to conserve the environment. We should always shop wisely by only buying sustainable products. Like always look for non-plastic products e.g. bamboo toothbrushes, bamboo cutlery sets, cotton produce bags, non-woven grocery bags, eco-friendly straws, bamboo made coffee mugs etc.
